Combined course – 5 days chainsaw training, plus 1 day NPTC assessment -Units 201 and 202.
This is a popular chainsaw course for those who wish to achieve NPTC Units 201 and 202 (CS30 and CS31 old titles) in a shorter time than taking separate units.
Typically, training of this course runs from Monday to Friday with the assessments taking place on Saturday.
Day one includes:
- Legislation, risk assessment, chainsaw maintenance, sharpening, safe starting procedures and basic cutting practices.
Days two to five includes:
- Chainsaw felling techniques (standard felling, felling trees leaning in direction of fell and trees leaning against direction of fell), safe take down of hung up trees, branch removal, crosscutting and manual stacking of timber.
At the beginning of each day, you will have the opportunity to sharpen your chainsaw and practice maintenance.
You will have an opportunity on the last day for a practice test, to fully prepare you for your assessment.
