3 day course plus 1 day NPTC assessment-Unit 204.
This is a popular course for those wishing to become tree surgeons and carry out tree work. You must hold units 201, 202 and 203 (CS30,31 and 38) in order to attend this course.
Day 1: Covers risk assessment and legislation of tree work. Work positioning principles, safe starting of chainsaws from rope and harnesses, followed by theory and practise of branch cutting techniques.
Day 2: Continued practise of work positioning and cutting techniques.
Day 3: Continued practise of work positioning and cutting techniques followed by more in depth theory of the effects that tree pruning has on trees. There will be an opportunity for a mock test to fully prepare you for your assessment.
